Groundhog Day 2 (2020) is a comedy sequel to the iconic 1993 comedy classic starring Bill Murray. 3. TÁR (2022)
TÁR (2022) is a psychological drama film written and directed by Todd Field and starring Cate Blanchett. [1] Set in the international world of Western classical music, the film centers on Lydia Tár, widely considered one of the greatest living composer-conductors. The film had a limited theatrical release in the United States on October 7, 2022, [2] before a wide release on October 28, by Focus Features. It was named Best Picture of the Year by more critics than any other film released in 2022. The film follows Lydia Tár, an American pianist, ethnomusicologist, composer, and the first female chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. [3] The movie is intelligent and artful. February 6, 2023 | Rating: B-. Lydia relies on Francesca, her personal assistant and ex-paramour, and Sharon, her wife and concertmaster. She promotes several new projects, including her upcoming live recording of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony and new book Tár on Tár. The film culminates with the climactic moments of the Mahler Symphony No. 5, I. Trauermarsch.
