In general, the majority of the Analysts for Global Major Indexes felt a positive market sentiment for the short term with a preponderance of Strong Buy. The same analysis performed for the Medium Term and Long Term revealed respectively Neutral and Sell.
Let’s analyze in detail the major indexes for American, European and Asia & Pacific Markets.
US Major Indices closed with a above the expectations result with the majority of the indexes in green. On average in the market session of today, US Major Indices gain6.61%points. Performing a comparison among the major marketplaces, the American Market Outperformed the European and Outperformed the Asia & Pacific market.
S&P 500 Incremented its value by 1.86% being traded now at 3973.75points. S&P Performance so far is downbeat: its YTD value has dropped by -16.63%.
NASDAQ surged in today session, being traded now at 11535.28 NASDAQ Performance this year has been mainly negative results: its today variation of 1.59% or 180.66 brings now the total YTD Performance to -26.27%
Dow Jones Industrial Average Incremented its value by 1.98% or 618.34, being traded now at 31880.24. Dow Jones Performance so far is downbeat: its YTD value has drop by -12.27%.
NYSE Composite rose today by 0.30% or 45.1 points. This led the index to be traded at 15081. Analyzing the past months till January we discover that its Year to Date performance has been dismal recording a variation of -0.1214.
Lastly, the Index for the Small Cap (Small Cap 2000) surged in today’s session, its value is 1788.91. Today has decreased by 0.88% or 15.64 points. Its performance this year registered a variation of -20.33%.
Remaining in the Americas, the Canadian S&P/TSX Index, in today’s session moved by 0.08% or 15.69 points. It brings the Index to be traded at 20197.61. S&P/TSX Year to Date Yield is below zero recording a movement of -4.83%.
Moving to European Major Indices, the last session has shown an European Market above the expectations. The majority of the indexes are green. The sum during the last market session of the European Major Indices brings the total to gain: 629.28 points. On average European Markets Followed the American Market and Outperformed the Asian one.
The German Index DAX Incremented its value by 1.38% or 193.49 points. The index is now traded at 14175.4. DAX results this year are downbeat since it dropped on a year to date scale around -10.76%. Volumes for today’s session were 60577379.
French CAC 40 Incremented in today’s session to 6358.74 with a daily variation of 1.17% or 73.5 points. Also CAC 40 performance this year has been downbeat since it dropped give or take -11.10%.
The Iberic Ibex35 from Spain, Incremented, its value moved during the last session of 1.67% or 141.3 points. YTD results for Ibex have shown a development of its value till -1.01%.
Euro Stoxx 50, the index created in 1998 to regroup the Major Companies and now traded in several currencies (USD-JPY-EUR-GBP), today Incremented its yield. The European Index Basket is now traded at 3708.39 points. The latest variation of 1.40% or 51.36 points. This latest up and down adds to a downbeat trend registered from the beginning of the year. YTD is indeed -13.73%.
Coming to Bel Paese (Italy), FTSE ALL SHARE followed the colleagues. During this session it increased to 26332.39 with a variation of 46.17 points or0.18%. Also for this index the YTD performance has seen a drop of -12.06%.
Last but not least for the European Team, we have the United Kingdom. The FTSE 100 indeed reported an Increment in today’s session and experienced a variation of its value by 1.67% being traded now at 7513.44. The session registered a variation of 123.46 points. The future based on the past is optimistic with its Year-to-date value hike of 1.75%.

Asia and Pacific Major indices closed with a dismal result with the majority of the indexes in red. On average during the last market session, Asia & Pacific Indices lost around -113.51. In the usual comparison among the Major Indices, the Asian Market Followed the Americas and Followed the European Market.
Hang Seng decreased in today’s session to 20470.06. It changed around -1.19% or -247.18 points. Its performance this year has been downbeat since it dropped around -12.51%.
The Indian Nifty 50 decremented this session by -0.32% and is now traded at 16214.7 with the last variation of -51.45 points. Nifty 50 performance this Year, analysts’ said is downbeat due to its drop of -6.57%.
Going to the Japanese market, the Nikkei 225 Index followed its colleagues and increased its value by 0.98% or 262.49 points. Nikkei 225 due to this change is now traded at 27001.52. YTD results not too far from certain competitors are now at -6.22% from January.
Last Index under the lens is the Jakarta index, now called IDX Composite. The former JI decremented its value during the last session of -1.12% or -77.37 points. The overall analysis of the movement registered this year is optimistic due to the hike of the index to around 3.94%. The last value for today’s session is 6840.77.
