NEW YORK, May 25 (FintechZoom): A general positive day, this Wednesday for the US market which after yesterday tumbling closed the day almost all in green. Slightly in the red, only a few stocks. Major indices went cut losses stacked so far this week: S&P surged 0.95%, NASDAQ gained +1.51%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average up +0.6%.
The tech sector saw during the market session Apple and Google down, but during the day they have been able to cut their losses.
Other stocks from the the tech sector performed quite well: Microsoft and Meta, respectively +1.12% and +1.41%: Amazon (+2.57%), Snap (+10.71%), and Netflix (+4.15%), Google (-0.08%), Paypal (+1.87%) and Twitter +3.92%, Apple +0.11%.
Chipset producers AMD and NVIDIA respectively increased by +1.63% and +5.08%.
Smart mobility saw a slight improvement in the red Lyft after the terrible day experience yesterday which saw the stock price going down in double-digit, today it lost only half a percentage point (-0.42%) and Uber Technologies went up by +2.27%.
The energy sector stacked gains this Wednesday with most of the stocks gaining more than 0.8%. In brief the energy sector: BP reported a +0.90%, Baker Hughes (-1.54%), APA(+4.42%), Devon Energy Corporation (+2.20%) Schlumberger NV (+2.62%), Halliburton (+0.78%).
The financial services sector saw the stocks closing the day mainly up: Signature Bank and Citigroup closed respectively +3.74% and +0.04%. All the others followed this upward trend: Visa (+0.60%) and American Express (+3.14%), JPMorgan Chase (+0.70%), Morgan Stanley (+0.33%), Goldman Sachs +0.30%.
Airline companies have been able to fly over the turbulent market session which saw all of them down more than 3% each. During the Wednesday session, they have been able to cut losses, in detail: Boeing gained around +2.23%, United Airlines up (+3.63%), Alaska Air Group (+2.15%), and American Airlines (+4.06%).
